PENNSYLVANIA was among the leading pack of states that were under starters order to legalize sports betting once the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, PASPA, was struck down in May 2018. Six months later retail sportsbooks were launched, with online sports betting following in May 2019.

The 14th online sportsbook was granted a license earlier this year, the likes of FanDuel, Betway and Unibet all partnering with a land-based casino, and sports betting is allowed from anywhere inside state lines.
