THE bad news for residents of the Roughrider State is that there are no provisions for legal sports betting in North Dakota, and none expected any time soon. There are no indications that it will follow in the footsteps of its sister state south of the border, with state legislators monitoring the situation across the rest of the US.
There are a raft of land-based venues where you can play table and other games, with tribal casinos joined by a number of charitable gaming establishments that offer gambling options, with horse race betting and the state lottery also available.
Whilst there are no legal online options, offshore sportsbooks advertise themselves as open to US residents; these sites, however, come with a warning as players in North Dakota use them without consumer protections, leaving them open to the risk of seeing winning bets not paid out, or accounts closed down without any notification.
