Funrize is a sweepstakes casino run by A1 Development LLC, a Wyoming company founded in 2019 that also operates NoLimitCoins, FunzCity, Tao Fortune and Fortune Wheelz. Launched in 2022, Funrize has become the most popular of the A1 sister sites, largely thanks to its tournaments and a steady supply of free coins.
It is not a licensed real-money casino. Like every sweepstakes casino, Funrize runs on two virtual currencies and a “no purchase necessary” promotional model, which is how it operates legally in a large part of the country where online casinos are not regulated. It is not available in New Jersey, New York, Michigan and more than a dozen other states, and the list of states where it can operate keeps shrinking.

Funrize welcome gift: 125,000 coins
New players receive a welcome gift of 125,000 coins.
Terms: No purchase necessary. 21+. Not available in CT, DE, ID, LA, MI, MT, NV, NJ, NY, RI, TN, WA, WV, WY; free-coin mode only in CA, IN, MD, ME, OK. Full terms at Funrize.
You do not need a Promo Code. The coins are released in stages as you set up the account: part on registration, with the rest released as you verify your email, complete your profile and confirm your phone number. That staging is common across A1 Development’s sites and is designed to make sure each account belongs to a real, verified person.
How Funrize coins work: Tournament Coins vs Promotional Entries
Most sweepstakes casinos call their currencies Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins. Funrize uses its own names, but the model is identical.
- Tournament Coins (TC) are the Gold Coins equivalent. They are for entertainment only, have no cash value and can never be redeemed. The 125,000-coin welcome gift is paid in these.
- Promotional Entries (PE) are the Sweeps Coins equivalent. You cannot buy them directly. They come free with certain coin packages, from daily promotions and tournaments, and through the free mail-in method. Prizes won while playing with Promotional Entries can be redeemed for gift cards or cash once you meet the minimums.
The legal logic is that you are never buying a chance to win. You are buying Tournament Coins, a virtual currency for fun play, and receiving Promotional Entries as a free bonus. Because those entries can also be obtained without paying anything, the games function as a sweepstakes promotion rather than as gambling under most state laws.
No purchase necessary: the free mail-in entry
Every legal sweepstakes has to offer a free alternative method of entry, and Funrize’s is a postal request. You send a handwritten request to the address in the official sweepstakes rules, and accepted requests are credited with free Promotional Entries. Follow the format in the rules exactly, because incomplete or copied requests are rejected. Daily logins, tournaments and social giveaways are other free ways to collect entries.
Funrize redemption rules
Before you can redeem anything, Funrize requires full identity verification: a government photo ID and proof of address. Promotional Entries also need to be played through at least once (a 1x playthrough) before winnings count as redeemable.
The published minimums are:
- Gift cards: from $25 in prize value, usually delivered by email within about 24 hours
- Cash prizes: from $100 in prize value, paid by bank transfer or card
Cash redemptions take longer than gift cards, typically several business days once approved. Your name and address on file must match your ID and your bank account, or the redemption will be held.
Remember that Promotional Entries can only be redeemed from states where Funrize runs sweepstakes play. If you move to, or are located in, a gold-coin-only or excluded state, prize redemptions are not available there.
Games at Funrize
Funrize’s lobby is slot-heavy, with roughly a thousand titles reported from studios including BGaming, Booming Games and NetGame Entertainment. You will find:
- Classic and video slots, including hold-and-win and jackpot-style games
- Fish games
- Promotional games and competitions such as Lotto Bingo and Scratch Mania
- A small live-dealer section, reported to be supplied by Iconic21
All games can be played with Tournament Coins, and most can be switched to Promotional Entries. Check the game’s info panel for the coin mode before you spin.
Funrize tournaments and races
Tournaments are the brand’s signature. Funrize Races run on a leaderboard: play eligible slots during the race window and finishing positions earn coin prizes. These are the most reliable way to top up a balance without buying anything, but treat them as entertainment rather than a strategy.
Buying coins at Funrize
Purchases are optional. Coin packages start at a few dollars, and the site accepts debit and credit cards. Cryptocurrency is not accepted. First-purchase discounts are common, but they are packages of Tournament Coins with Promotional Entries added free, not deposits into a gambling account.
Set a monthly budget before you buy. Sweepstakes coins do not trigger the deposit-limit tools that regulated casinos are required to offer in states like New Jersey.
Funrize app and mobile play
Funrize is built for mobile browsers and does not rely on a native Android app. On iPhone or Android, open the site in Safari or Chrome and add it to your home screen for app-like access. The site uses location checks to enforce its state restrictions.
Where Funrize is legal: state availability
Funrize runs full sweepstakes play, including prize redemptions, in these jurisdictions:
Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington D.C., Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont and Wisconsin.
Free-coin mode only (no prize redemptions): California, Indiana, Maryland, Maine and Oklahoma.
Not available: Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.
Several of those exclusions follow new state laws. New Jersey banned sweepstakes casinos when Gov. Phil Murphy signed A5447 on August 15, 2025. New York’s ban took effect on December 5, 2025, California’s AB 831 on January 1, 2026, and Tennessee’s SB 2136 on May 22, 2026. A1 Development pulled all of its sites from Tennessee in November 2025, before that law was passed. Oklahoma’s SB 1589, enacted over Gov. Kevin Stitt’s veto, takes effect on November 1, 2026. Our sweepstakes casinos guide tracks every state.
Responsible play at Funrize
Sweepstakes casinos fall outside state gaming regulators, so player protections depend on the operator. Before you buy coins, check your account settings or ask support what purchase limits and self-exclusion options are available. If coin purchases are becoming a problem, call 1-800-GAMBLER or visit GambleAware.org. Our responsible gambling guide has more help.

Our verdict on Funrize
Funrize is one of the better-known sweepstakes casinos for a reason: the tournaments are lively, the slot lobby is deep and the welcome gift costs nothing. Go in understanding the model. Tournament Coins are for fun, Promotional Entries are the only currency that can turn into prizes, and redemptions come only after verification and from eligible states. If you are in a state where it operates, it is an easy site to try without spending.
